Zack Holwerda

Zack's wall is highly decorated with plaques and trophies from the many tournaments he has either won or placed extremely well in. Suffice to say, Zack knows a little bit about bass fishing!

As well as being an accomplished fisherman, Zack is a husband to wife Jaime, Dad of 7, and has three grandkids; There’s nothing like a day spent all together out on the lake!

Zack Holwerda is the founder of Desert Fishing Guides and is a highly experienced local fisherman with over two decades of experience fishing the lakes of Arizona. His experience is not limited by state borders however, as Zack has fished both recreationally and competitively on many bodies of water from Clear Lake in California to as far east as the Mobile Delta in Alabama.

Over the years Zack has fished countless competitive tournaments. Some of his most notable achievements include:

  • Winning the Wild West Bass Trails/Anderson Toyota Tournament at Havasu in 2019 with fishing partner Dylan Maxon.

  • Fishing the world championship for BASS Nation.

  • In 2007 Zack caught a 13.1 Lb bass at Clearlake in CA, which was the 4th largest bass caught in FLW history at the time.
